  1. I love the Fantail historical skirt, but alas! I don’t have the necessary sewing skills to
    a) add set-in pockets (a sine qua non for me these days) and
    b) add a waistband adjuster – those little doohickies with two buttons and one buttonhole. (Why men’s tailored trousers get them when men don’t change shape by the week, I don’t know!)
    So for now I’ll just keep drooling over the pattern while I work on gradually upskilling. I’ve thought of commissioning someone with better skills to make one for me, but I don’t know a) who takes commissions of that sort and b) what it would cost.
