Shell got married! (And her dress looked gorgeous!)

Here is what you have all been waiting for: photos of Shell in her dress from her wedding!

These are my photos from the day.  It was definitely one of those times when I really wished I had a better camera – mine just doesn’t zoom well, won’t focus at different levels, and doesn’t play pretty tricks with the light, which really limits my fun.

It was an absolutely lovely day: the rain stopped just in time, everyone was happy, the site was gorgeous and Shell looked amazing: the perfect vision of elf queen meets modern bride, just as we had hoped.

And one with the bride and her dressmaker to finish it off:

There you go!  Would you be interested in a less ‘dress’, more ‘wedding story’ post with images from Sarah (in other words, images that are better than mine!)?

  1. It turned out beautifully! I love the way the skirt drapes and flows!

YES! I’d love to see more pictures of the wedding! 🙂 Please post!

  2. So beautiful, but my fav is the stripped socks with sneakers, beautiful and practical!

  3. Katherine says

It’s beautiful! I’d like to see a close-up photo of the bodice.

Shell looks so beautiful, and you do too! The dress is amazing, well done 😀

  5. WOW! It turned out absolutely breathtaking! Congrats on another gorgeous creation, and many congrats to the bride!

  6. Lynne says

More WOW! A triumph! What a lovely setting, with the kowhai in bloom, for a dress with NZ bird buttons! The dress looks glorious, and the drape and fit of the bodice is brilliant. What was that cloak she was wearing in the first photo? Looked great. Another cloak photo, maybe, pretty please?

    • you!

Will do on the cloak photos 🙂

The cloak is a Stansborough Fellowship of the Rings cloak, made by the same company that made the ones for the films (though interestingly, it looks like they are no longer allowed to use the actual LotR names and branding on their website – I wonder when that expired?)

  7. Shell looks absolutely divine, you did a great job on the dress.
The socks add the perfect bit of whimsy.

  8. Wow, so lovely! I’m especially taken with that photo of her walking away from the camera, with all the lovely swishy skirt movement! Also, the socks 😀

      • The ones in my journal. Shell figured that it was pretty unlikely that her friends and family were reading my blog, so she let me post them there.
