Cats and corset boxes

Last week I got a big shipment of corset and hooping materials in a lovely low, square box, all packed in with tissue paper.

I took out all the corset supplies, but left the hoops and tissue paper in the box, and the box in the middle of the living room.

For two days, nothing happened.

And then Felicity discovered the box.

She’s not much of a box cat, but it turns out corset supply boxes are perfectly Felicity shaped.

It’s now her nightly nest.

Clearly this is a costuming cat!

A wet Wednesday needs a cat post! Beautiful Felicity! Prepared to go through the hoops for her human. 🙂

Love the way cats gather their feet up in their hands so that you can see the jellybean toes.

Beautiful as ever. Have you tried scratching the side of the box with something? Cwtch and Cariad go crazy if they think there is something to pounce on beyond their cardboard lair. I recommend thick gloves for this activity.

Ah Miss Fissy. So gorgeous, so fluffy and now I have “Soft Kitty, Warm Kitty” stuck in my head again. (I had never heard the song before your post about it so I looked it up on You Tube and now serenade Cariad with it when she wants attention).

    • Fissy doesn’t love playing with boxes – she just wants to sleep in it light a nest. She’s a slightly broken cat!

  3. Tee hee, that’s how Walnut feels about Amazon boxes!

I love how all her paws are tucked together into that one corner.

  4. Yay! Fuzzy Felicity pictures!

This reminds me of the cartoon laws of physics. I can’t remember where I read them, but one of them was “A cat assumes the shape of it’s container”. She fits into that box perfectly.

My Maggie loves boxes. When a new one comes into the house, she has to “help” open it – she can’t wait to be able to climb into it!

  6. Our cats do the same thing. Something could be sitting out for days and the moment you want to pick it up or throw it away it is suddenly their favorite thing in the world and they can’t live without it! 🙂
