The Historical Sew Monthly 2016 – it’s on!

The Historical Sew Monthly 2016 is on!

The page is up (you should be able to access it through the button above – the sidebar button will be up soon), and all the challenges are up.

This year the challenges are all new.  We’ve taken input from all the suggestions that came in this year, and suggestions from previous years to come up with 12 themes to motivate, inspire, and (most importantly) challenge you.  Hope you like them!

The overall format has stayed pretty much the same from 2015, but there a few small but important tweaks.  The date range has been moved back to pre-WWII, and the emphasis on historical sewing has been made clearer.

Can’t wait to see what everyone makes in 2016!

The challenges look wonderful…as an invenerate procrastinator I am in good position for the first entry…now I just have to get started.
Thank you for hosting this place to share our efforts.

  2. I feel a bit sorry about the range tweak, although I can see where it is coming from – it’s just that I have these old German magazines, and most of those with patterns still in are WW2-era… 😀
Still, that’s just a very little dissappointment! I’ve got lots of other plans and ideas!

  3. So happy that there’s going to be another year of challenges! Yay!
The monthly topics look great, I have lots of ideas already 😀

  4. Hurrah! I am very excited about the new challenges!! I love the ones you picked, and am already plotting for them. Thanks again as always for all your efforts to make the HSM happen! 🙂 I appreciate it!

  5. Fabulous! I was hoping that there would be a 2016 HSM. The challenges look great.

A HUGE thank you to you and the moderators for all the hard work that goes on to make the HSM so special.

  6. I was just wondering the other day if there was going to be another year. Even though I severely fell off the wagon this year (ahhh life), I’m really excited to have more challenges to meet 🙂 Thanks to you and the moderators who put so much effort into this!

I am very excited about this!! I was hoping you were continuing for 2016 as I just found the Historical Sew Monthly last month. I have been planning on making some mid-19th century clothing for a long time, but have been procrastinating on remaking my corset. The first challenge is perfect!
