The Idea and Inspiration:
To make a fully corded, wasp-waisted, sweetheart neckline late 19th century corset.
The corset was based on the 1890 corded corset pattern from Jill Salen’s Corsets: Historical Patterns and Techniques, with moderate alterations to the centre-front and bust pieces.
Fabric and Materials:
Black silk satin recycled from a vintage obi, dusky pink cotton lining, crisp midweight cotton support fabric, cotton cording, spiral and spring steel boning, metal eyelets.

Hello! Fellow costume enthusiast here! I am a high schooler, and I attempted this same style corset earlier this year, and might I just say, yours is absolutely stunning. It leaves mine in the dust. This is just lovely. Just absolutely splendid. I sent this to my teacher and she thought it was beautiful as well.
Oh, thank you! That’s such a lovely compliment.
